A little light science

To put it simply: Valkee works. Want to read the evidence? Check out the research below and fill your head with bright ideas.

Don't take our word for it

See what others have to say

The last few months have been extraordinarily challenging with a tough project at work. Despite stressful days and nights with my head constantly in problem-solving mode, I have NEVER been tired. It sounds too good to be true, but it's a fact – and only one thing was different: I started each day using Valkee II Bright Light headset. What’s 12 minutes in the morning if you get 365 days of energy in return?"

Valkee has proved very useful in helping our players and support staff adapt quickly to time-zone changes caused by long-haul travel. We have seen improvements in sleep duration and quality, enhanced restoration of circadian rhythms, and a reduction in medication use – all factors likely to aid athletic and work performance in the period following such journeys.

I am not one to jump at the latest gadget without taking my time to see if it really works, and I can say that VALKEE's product does what it promises to do. It has helped me stay sharp and feel rested especially during my trip to Asia as well as during Finland's long dark winter days.

My experience with Valkee has been very positive, especially when flying east from Moscow to Vladivostok. The heavy travel schedule and long flights are real problems for professional athletes – the team flies over 100,000 kilometers during the season, including training camps. Why wouldn't you improve your life if you can? I highly recommend Valkee!

The smart way to beat jet lag

What is jet lag?

Jet lag is the common name for the collection of symptoms experienced when your body clock is disrupted due to rapid travel through multiple time zones. Symptoms can include tiredness, irritability and poor performance – and it’s often worse when travelling from west to east. Read more about jetlag »

How does Valkee help?

Like sunshine, bright light helps in adjusting to a new rhythm. By using Valkee just before and during your flight and for the first few days of your trip, the symptoms of jet lag can be reduced or in some cases avoided altogether, and recovery from them accelerated.

When should I use it?

Travelling east: Start preparing 2-3 days before you fly – use Valkee in the morning and go to sleep 30-60 mins earlier. On the day you arrive, avoid light and use Valkee at the times shown in the table. From day 2 on, use Valkee 2 hours earlier each day if you’ve crossed 2-7 time zones, or 2 hours later if you’ve crossed 8-12 time zones. Find out more with the free Valkee app »
